My Story

I am a Licensed Professional counselor who believes in empowering couples, families individuals, adults and youths, to overcome personal obstacles to improve themselves, their relationships with others and to promote self-efficacy.  Using clinically tested and evidence-based interventions, I have worked with many diverse individuals with challenges ranging from trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, family discord, bipolar disorder, grief, addictions and many more.

I am a Texas transplant and a native of Liberia, West Africa.  I have a bachelor’s degree in social work and a Masters in counseling from Prairie View A&M University.  Even though I use a variety of research-based treatment modalities to treat the specific needs of each client, my personal choice is Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

My Education & Experience

I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. After Graduating, I worked for The Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Parole officer for 10 years. It was there I was introduced to an interest in mental health. I worked extensively with individuals with dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance use. I decided to return to school and further my education to compliment my new interest. I obtained a Masters degree in Counseling. As a licensed therapist, I have worked with agencies that catered to all populations including but not limited to women and children, substance abuse, couples, LGBTQ+, women's issues, stress, anxiety, depression, etc.
